Nemanja Matic's epic response when Chelsea fan tried to mock Man Utd
Nemanja Matic has confirmed he will be leaving Manchester United at the end of the 2021/22 season.
The midfielder, who still has 12 months remaining on his contract, confirmed the news on his official Instagram account.
Matic wrote on the social media platform: “After a great deal of thought, I have decided that this season will be my last with Manchester United. I have informed the board, the manager and the players of my decision.
“It has been a huge honour and a privilege to play for this great club. A big thank you to the fans for their unwavering support.
“I will now give everything until the end of the season to help my team-mates finish as strongly as possible.”
Matic joined United in the summer of 2017 from Chelsea in a deal worth around £40 million and he’s been a solid performer during his time at Old Trafford.
Under Jose Mourinho‘s rule in 2017/18, the Serbian enforcer helped the Red Devils finish second in the Premier League table.
Matic’s stoppage-time winner away at Crystal Palace at the very end of that campaign is undoubtedly his finest moment in a United shirt.
Nemanja Matic has announced that he's leaving at the end of the season. Throwback to his maiden goal for Manchester United – an absolute pearler in the 91st minute to beat Crystal Palace as we came from 2–0 down to win 3–2.
