Nemanja Matic makes damning Jadon Sancho claim and Manchester United injury news latest

Manchester United are having the spotlight shone on them again this week as the pressure on Erik ten Hag cranks up.

A poor showing at Newcastle condemned United to their tenth defeat of the season ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Chelsea. As a result of the stalling season, a number of United players are losing faith in Ten Hag.

All the while, Jadon Sancho’s exile from the first team continues. He is one of several players who could leave in January with others still sidelined with injuries until the new year. It means United must navigate the festive period with a squad depleted of numbers and trust.

Nemanja Matic has claimed Sancho and Paul Pogba were always late to United training during his time at the club and he suggested there were low standards among players.

Matic joined United in 2017 from Chelsea to play for Jose Mourinho again and he spent five years at Old Trafford, making 183 appearances before leaving on a free transfer at the end of the 2021/22 season.

The midfielder did not win a trophy during his time with United and he signed Roma following his departure, but he's now playing for French club Rennes and he spoke to Serbian media this week.
