NB brands salute Super Eagles for avenging loss to Guinea Bissau

Super Eagles’ victory over Guinea Bissau on Monday is a sign of good things to come from the senior national team, three brands from the stable of Nigerian Breweries Plc., have said.

The Eagles on Monday showed great promise as they battled to a lone goal win over their opponent at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau.

The goal came when Moses Simon neatly converted a 30th minute spot kick to take Nigeria back to the top of Group A in the qualifying tournament.

While congratulating the team after the game, the trio of Goldberg, Life Continental beer and Zagg Energy Drink, said Super Eagles’ brilliant outing against the Wild Dogs showed Nigeria is still a team to reckon with in African football.

The beverages, which are the official drinks of the national football team, have been galvanising football fans and consumers to support the Super Eagles in the quest for qualification for the Nations Cup tournament in January, next year in Cote d’Ivoire.

Senior Brand Manager, Goldberg, Oluyemi Ekudayo, said: “Of course, we are very happy with the victory, the Eagles demonstrated the true Naija spirit, which is always championed by Goldberg and other brands on our stable… we enjoin the team to take each game as it comes while we countdown to lifting the trophy next year in Cote d’Ivoire.”

Next for the Super Eagles is a June away game against Sierra Leone in Freetown, after which they will host Sao Tome and Principe in the final qualifying match in September.
