Nathan Jones blasts Stoke City after Luton Town win

Luton Town boss Nathan Jones has taken aim at Stoke City after he saw his side win 2-1 at the Bet365 Stadium last night, during an interview with Stoke-on-Trent Live.

The Hatters manager previously had an unsuccessful spell in charge of the Potters and was understandably pumped up for the game this week as he looked to prove his doubters wrong at the home of his former employers.

Goals from Danny Hylton and Cameron Jerome earnt the Bedfordshire outfit the victory they deserved and as a result Jones was jubilant after the final whistle as he celebrated wildly in front of the away end.

Now the Luton boss has taken aim at the players he used to manage during his time at Stoke as he stated the following after the game:

“I tried to implement that here but I have categorically different groups. The group I left at Luton and the group I had now are categorically different to the group I came to at Stoke. You saw a Nathan Jones team. I’m super proud of that team. It’s not often I could say that when I was here.”

Jones took plenty of stick throughout the evening from the Stoke City faithful and it was clear to everyone to see that the win meant so much to him when the final whistle blew.

Now he will be hoping to sneak his side into the play-offs before the season is wrapped up as the Sky Bet Championship continues to entertain.

The Verdict

The reality of the situation is that Jones had an awful record during his time with the Potters and as a result the fans gave him a bit of banter when he returned.

He clearly took it in his stride and managed to get what was a significant win out of his Luton side.

Sometimes things just don’t work out in football and it is fair to say that Jones doesn’t look back on his time with Stoke too
