Nagorno-Karabakh, Ukraine fatigue, Canada-India row, Rupert Murdoch's succession

Absent from UN Week this year were the leaders of Russia, China, France and the UK, but there was a main attraction: Volodymyr Zelensky made the trip to New York for the first time since last year's Russian invasion and even stared down Moscow's UN ambassador in a special session of the Security Council. Over at the General Assembly though, Ukraine's president also directed his wrath at Hungary, Poland and Slovakia for defying the EU's lifting of a grain import ban.

Zelensky's North American tour is concluding in Canada, home to a sizeable Ukrainian community. Speaking of diasporas, a major diplomatic row erupted on Monday when the prime minister spoke in parliament, accusing India of being behind the assassination of a Sikh leader on Canadian soil.

It's hard to believe Rupert Murdoch is actually retiring. Come mid-November, the 92-year-old media mogul will hand over operations of Fox and News Corp to his son Lachlan.
