'My life was completely shattered in a moment - I lost my partner and the chance to become a father'

A man has described how his "life was completely shattered" after his pregnant partner and their unborn child were killed by a dangerous driver. Calvin Buckley shared the heart-wrenching impact of the day he lost Frankie Jules-Hough, his partner, and their unborn little girl, Neeve, in a crash on the M66 motorway.

The reckless BMW driver responsible for the tragic accident, Adil Iqbal, recorded himself travelling at blistering speeds of 123mph while erratically weaving through traffic on the M66 in Bury, Greater Manchester. Unable to maintain control, Iqbal's car collided with Frankie's, who had pulled onto the motorway's hard shoulder due to a flat tyre on May 13 last year.

Frankie, 38, a Hollyoaks actress, and her unborn baby Neeve died from the injuries sustained days after the devastating collision. Injured as well were Frankie's two sons and nephew, who were present in the car at the time of the catastrophe, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Calvin is now determined to highlight the perils of distracted driving primarily due to mobile phone usage behind the wheel. Sharing his heartbreaking ordeal, he supports a new campaign titled 'Touch.Screen', which launched on Tuesday.

He said: "Two people lost their lives as a result of someone using their phone while driving, and to put it simply my life was destroyed. I lost my partner and the chance to become a father, but it has also affected many other people and the effects of this incident will stay with us for the rest of our lives."
