Murder suspect Kyle Clifford found and taken to hospital after huge police manhunt

Murder suspect Kyle Clifford has been apprehended and has been taken to hospital after a huge manhunt to trace him, police have said.

Officers began searching for 26-year-old Mr Clifford after three women - later revealed as the two daughters and wife of BBC commentator John Hunt - died after an attack on Ashlyn Close, Bushey, Hertfordshire.

The victims were later named as Carol Hunt, Hannah Hunt and Louise Hunt. The three women were found in the early evening on July 9 after police and ambulance vehicles were called to to the home before 7pm.

The trio had suffered serious injuries but were alive when discovered, however all died a short time later.

The man at the centre of the major manhunt, Mr Clifford, was wanted by police who had searched for him throughout the night.

On Wednesday evening (July 10), emergency services were then seen rushing towards a cemetery in the Hilly Fields area of Enfield, north London.

Hertfordshire Police said the suspect was later found in the Enfield area on Wednesday afternoon (July 10) and is receiving medical treatment after being found with injuries. The force also revealed it believes Clifford was known to the victims.

Detective Inspector Justine Jenkins from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit said: “This continues to be an incredibly difficult time for the victims’ family and we would ask that their privacy is respected as they come to terms with what has happened.

“Following extensive enquiries, the suspect has been located and nobody else is being sought in connection with the investigation at this time.
