Murder investigation launched after man dies in Manchester car chase stabbing

A murder investigation has been launched after a man stabbed in north Manchester tragically died.

Emergency services attended Cardinal Street, in Cheetham Hill, at 2.25pm on Thursday afternoon (October 23).

Greater Manchester Police says officers performed CPR on a 26-year-old man who had suffered serious injuries following a stabbing.

He was rushed to hospital, where he sadly died later in the day, despite the best efforts of medical professionals.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, GMP says.

A 19-year-old man has since been arrested on murder. He remains in custody for questioning this morning (Friday).

Officers responded to reports of a disturbance following a car crash, with a vehicle seen flipped on its roof at the scene.

The Manchester Evening News understands the victim was involved in a car chase that resulted in the collision, before he was stabbed in a 'targeted attack'.
