Murder arrest in Liverpool as man dies after fall from upstairs window

Police have made an arrest in Liverpool following the death of a man in his 40s who is understood to have fallen from a top-floor window.

The ECHO reports that the incident occurred on Longmoor Lane, Fazakerley, at around 10pm on Sunday night (May 8), with a large cordon subsequently put in place between the junctions with Inglis Road and Goodacre Road.

Witnesses reported that a man had fallen from an upstairs window of a terraced house on Longmoor Lane. The man was said to have hit the railings outside the property as he fell to the ground.

Merseyside Police later confirmed that they have arrested a 43-year-old man, who is known to the victim, on suspicion of murder. He was taken into custody and will be questioned by police.

The victim, a man in his 40s, died in hospital after the incident on Longmoor Lane. Police say they were called to reports that the victim had fallen out of a window of a property on the road.

Detective Inspector Gary Stratton said: "We are in the extremely early stages of an investigation, and I would appeal to anyone who has any information at all to come forward.

"Investigations are ongoing to establish exactly what happened and our officers are at the scene while we conduct house-to-house enquiries and gather information.

"If you saw or heard any suspicious behaviour in the area this evening then please let us know. Similarly if you were driving down Longmoor Lane and have dashcam footage then please review it and contact us if you see anything. All information you hold could be vital to our investigation."
