Munster to part ways with RG Snyman at the end of the season

Irish side Munster announced on Monday that they would part ways with Springbok lock RG Snyman at the end of the current season.

Snyman joined Munster in 2020 after previously turning out for the Bulls and Japanese club Mie Honda Heat. His time at the club, however, was blighted by injury.

He only lasted seven minutes of his debut match for the club against Leinster in 2020, as a torn ACL ended his season.

After an extended period on the sidelines, Snyman, in only his fourth match for the Munster, suffered another ACL injury against Scarlets.

While he returned to action in 2023, he suffered a chest injury while playing in the Springboks' 12-11 Rugby World Cup final victory over the All Blacks, which saw Snyman again sidelined and requiring surgery.

While Snyman will be looking for a new club, his lock partner and fellow World Cup winner Jean Kleyn has signed a two-year contract extension with Munster.
