Mum 'devastated' after beloved bulldog snatched from family home as she bathed daughter upstairs

A mum has been left devastated after her bulldog was stolen as she bathed her daughter upstairs. Charlotte Burrows, from Radcliffe, said thieves barged into her home and snatched her beloved Cutie, a rare lilac Tri Merle, three weeks ago.

The mum-of-two said her heartbroken daughter Callie, 3, has pleaded 'for her little doggy everyday' and she's reported the dognapping to police. Thieves barged into her home while she was upstairs with her children and grabbed the pocket bulldog at about 4.30pm on May 11.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News , Charlotte, 25, said: "I was upstairs bathing my children and my friend was sat downstairs. A guy just walked straight into my house, was very demanding and just said he was taking the dog.

"I came running down to see what was going on, but it had all happened so fast. He picked her up and walked straight back out to a van, where there was another man, and they both drove off.

"It just happened too quickly and we didn't know what to do. Afterwards, I was so upset and angry that someone could do that. Police have told me they are investigating but that they can't guarantee my dog will be found."

Lilac Merles are one of the rarest bulldog breeds and among the hardest to find. Charlotte believes she was targeted deliberately as the breeds can cost at least £2,000.

Cutie, who has just turned one, lives at the Radcliffe family home with her bulldog mum Storm. Charlotte added: "She is a pocket bulldog, and you don't see many of them around, she is quite rare and special. Living in a house with two children, this is so worrying and has actually made me want to move from here.
