Mum, 35, stabbed to death in front of her children as man arrested for murder

Children found their mother dying after she was killed in the street in a knife attack. The 35-year-old victim was attacked at her home in Little Hulton, Salford, in the early hours of today.

It is understood she was first assaulted in her home in Dukesgate Grove while her children were at home. The attack continued outside where she suffered a fatal wound.

Police were alerted at 2.40am after the woman was found by her two young children with a single stab wound to the chest. She was taken to hospital but later died. A man who fled the scene has now been arrested for murder, GMP say.

“A man, aged 45, fled the scene but has since been arrested by officers on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning. Our inquiries at present suggest that the victim was known to him and we believe that it was a targeted attack.

“We recognise that incidents of this nature will understandably cause worry in our communities in Greater Manchester and to reassure members of the public, additional neighbourhood officers will be in and around
