MotoGP outlines 2023 weekend format incorporating sprint races

Sprint races are coming to MotoGP from next season and Carlos Ezpeleta, Chief Sporting Officer at Dorna, has been speaking to the press at MotorLand Aragon to outline just how the new look MotoGP weekend is going to work.

Sprint races appear to be all the rage at the moment with Formula 1 introducing them at a handful of races last year and keeping them for this, with the view to expanding out their Sprint schedule for 2023.

MotoGP, though, is going a fair bit further in that regard with them revealing earlier this season that they’d be introducing Sprint races at every single MotoGP weekend from next year, which is certainly some leap of faith from the championship in the format.
