MotoGP Mandalika, Ministry: Indonesia Successfully Becomes a Good Host

TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali said the government had evaluated the implementation of the MotoGP Indonesia 2022 at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

"In general, as Indonesia held the world racing championship for the first time, the results are quite good," said Zainudin when met in Yogyakarta on Friday, March 25, 2022.

One thing that becomes the public spotlight is Indonesian racer Mario Suryo Aji who is considered to have made a new history.

Zainudin claimed that after MotoGP at Mandalika circuit, the government is increasingly excited to hold other international events in the future in a bid to motivate Indonesian racers to be more daring to appear in world championships.

"We will coordinate with IMI (Indonesian Motor Association) which race events may be held at Mandalika Circuit," he said.

Zainudin deemed the MotoGP event an initial capital to promote Indonesia that it has sufficient assets to hold an international championship.

"The event at the Mandalika Circuit yesterday showed that Indonesia was able to become a good host and is ready to be appointed to host the next international-class racing championship," said Zainudin.
