MotoGP Logistics Arrive in Lombok Ahead of Mandalika Preseason Test

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The MotoGP season opener is coming closer as teams have started to prepare for one of the racing calendar's preseason tests in Mandalika International Circuit. Logistics have started to arrive at the track slated to host the preseason testing on February 11-13.

Teams are currently testing at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia in a “shakedown” preseason test.

Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), Priandhi Satria, in a written statement on Wednesday, February 2, announced that the MotoGP riders’ motorcycles and spare parts have arrived at Lombok’s Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Airport.

On the track preparation side of things, the MGPA also reported that the container placement layout for the temporary offices of Dorna as the racing series’ organizer, media center, motorcycle and spare part containers have been prepared.

Other facilities to support the preseason testing and the actual racing scheduled for March 18-20 at the Mandalika International Circuit are currently being built.

Areas that need improvements following last year’s World Superbike (WSBK) race such as the track’s water drainage system have also been fixed in hopes that floods will no longer exist at the racing track if rainfall showers during the MotoGP race weekend.
