MotoGP Aragon: Biaggi blasts Moto3 pitlane clash ‘unacceptable’

A bizarre and dangerous pitlane clash occurred during Moto3 qualifying at Motorland Aragon on Saturday afternoon.

The incident involving Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Adrian Fernandez saw the Spaniard allegedly prevented from leaving his garage by two members of the Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max Racing Team, as their own rider, Ayumu Sasaki, headed out for Q2. Sasaki claimed a front row start for Sunday’s 19-lap race with Fernandez missing the group and lining up in 15th.

Tech3 instantly branded the situation ‘unacceptable’ as the video was shared on social media with replies, both from the Sterilgarda account and team boss Max Biaggi himself, seemingly in agreement

“Unacceptable behaviour!” Biaggi wrote. “We publicly apologise to the Tech3 Racing Team and Adrian Fernandez.

“An unsolicited, dangerous action that cannot be justified in any way by our code of ethics! Those responsible will be appropriately punished.”

At the time of publishing there has been no official comment by the FIM Stewards into the incident.
