Motherwell star Andy Halliday only worried about the controllables as club seek new boss

Motherwell midfielder Andy Halliday is confident they have done everything possible to prepare properly for Saturday's visit of Ross County despite the ongoing uncertainty over their managerial situation.

Stephen Frail will take charge of his second game as caretaker boss while the Motherwell board continues its recruitment process following the resignation of Stuart Kettlewell.

Former Newcastle United and Dundee midfielder Temur Ketsbaia is understood to be on a two-man shortlist for the job. The 56-year-old was most recently in charge of the Cyprus national side, but has had spells in chrage of AEK Athens and Olympiacos.

Frail revealed on Thursday that it was always the plan for him to lead the team into today's Premiership encounter - with a new boss expected to be unveiled at teh start of next week - and Halliday has felt comfortable with that situation.

The 33-year-old said: "Obviously, there's a lot of noise. Of course, you're going to talk about it within yourselves, but I think it's part of the uncontrollables. It's something that we can't control as football players.

"All we can control is coming in every day, applying ourselves, gearing towards the next game, which is obviously Ross County on Saturday.

"I think everything else is up to Brian (Caldwell), the chairman (Kyrk McMilan) and the people behind the scenes to get along with, to appoint the next man. For us as a group of players, it's just the next game.

"What I will say is the players and the backroom staff have done everything they can to prepare properly and then everything else will take care of itself.

"We've had a couple of weeks' training, which is really important. We've been on the grass nearly every single day.

"There's obviously not wholesale
