Motherwell boss praises young duo as they're sent out on loan spells

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell praised young duo Mark Ferrie and Ewan Wilson's contributions this season, before sending them out on loan.

Forward Ferrie, 17, has joined Stenhousemuir until January.

Defender Wilson, 18, has joined League One side Stirling Albion for the rest of this season.#

In both cases, Kettlewell was keen to stress that it's to further the players' development, suggesting that players returning from injury would push them further down the pecking order.

Wilson and Ferrie have both been on the bench and played parts in the Viaplay Cup group stages campaign, while Ferrie came on during the 1-0 defeat at home to St Mirren on September 16.

Kettlewell said: "They have been fantastic, the two in particular.

"They have been tremendous for us since they’ve come in for pre-season, really stepped up to the plate, started to push their levels, and I’m really happy with where they are and where they sit in their pathway.

“The next bit is to make sure they get enough game-time so that development phase continues and we don’t stall it."
