Morgan Gibbs-White named the 'star man' with Paolo Di Canio claim made after Swansea win

Morgan Gibbs-White has been hailed as the 'star man' as Sheffield United thrashed Swansea City at Bramall Lane.

The Wolves loanee scored either side of an emphatic George Baldock strike and a Billy Sharp goal to help the Blades to a comfortable 4-0 victory on Saturday.

It is a result which lifts Paul Heckingbottom's side into the playoff places, with matches in hand of top-six rivals Blackburn Rovers, Huddersfield Town and QPR.

United's display in the victory over the Swans was picked out for analysis on the 'EFL on Quest' highlights show, with former striker Jamie Mackie praising Gibbs-White's display in particular.

The segment showed the 22-year-old opening the scoring, confidently bringing down Oliver Norwood's long-range pass before lifting his effort over Andrew Fisher.

Reflecting on the Blades ' first goal, Mackie said: "You can't stand off Ollie Norwood, amazing quality and what a ball.

"The touch from Morgan Gibbs-White...he was the star man. He was absolutely fantastic today, flying down that wing to score."

Baldock's emphatic strike just three minutes' later was then analysed, with Mackie comparing the technique shown by the defender to that of former West Ham striker Paolo Di Canio.

He said: "This is top-drawer quality. Can I say Di Canio-esque with the little left-foot hop and laced it off the bare which makes it look amazing."
