Mona McSharry wins heat to book place in World Championships semi-final
Mona McSharry has won her 200m Breaststroke Heat in a time of 2:24.82 and will head into her semi-final ranked second overall on Day 5 of the World Aquatics Championships in Doha.
John Shortt, at just 17 years of age, is also through to his first World Championship semi-final after swimming 1:59.27 in the 200m backstroke to finish 16th overall while Eoin Corby finished 17th in the 200m Breaststroke in a time of 2:13.10 on his World Championship debut.
Also in action was Victoria Catterson who finished 19th in the 100m freestyle with a time of 55.44.
Yesterday, Armagh's Daniel Wiffen made Irish swimming history by winning gold in the 800m freestyle final at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha.
