Moment driver ploughs into oncoming car during police chase through quiet Dukinfield estate

This is the moment a driver smashes into an oncoming car during a police chase through a quiet estate in Dukinfield.

Footage captured from a nearby doorbell camera shows the car speeding through the calm streets on Saturday evening (February 19).

The black Seat can be seen swerving around the corner onto Gorse Hall Road in Dukinfield, shortly after 5pm.

Just seconds later, it smashes head on into an oncoming car, before four passengers inside the car are seen making a quick run for it.

A police car can be seen following behind moments after.

And a cloud of smoke can be seen above the cars after the smash.

Pictures from the scene show the extent of the damage, which shows the two cars had hit head on.

The North West Ambulance Service attended the incident and took a man in his 60's to hospital, but he luckily escaped with no injuries.

A nearby resident, who asked to remain anonymous, told the M.E.N that the road is becoming a hotspot for accidents.

He said: "It's crazy how many 'accidents' happen just outside of our house. It's getting worse all the time.

"This time, the people from the car all got out and ran off, I don't think they got caught.

"It's becoming dangerous for the kids to play out."

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 17:10 to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles in Dukinfield.

"We sent one ambulance to the scene where we assessed one patient – a male in his 60s – and
