Molloy inspires Magpies in belting Eagles

Collingwood have snapped a concerning two-game AFLW losing spell with Chloe Molloy inspiring the Magpies to a 24-point win against West Coast.

Flying in and out of Perth for Sunday's clash, Collingwood controlled the match at Mineral Resources Park from the start, running out winners 7.4 (46) to 3.4 (22).

The match was set-up by Molloy and midfielder Brittany Bonnici, who were the most influential players on the ground right the way through.

With captain Steph Chiocci out, and reigning league best-and-fairest winner Bri Davey to miss the rest of the season, Molloy was thrown into the midfield.

Molloy set the game alight, kicking the first goal and using her power to burst out of the stoppages.

The 23-year-old finished with 18 touches and two majors in an ominous sign for the rest of the competition.

"We're not relieved, we did what we came here to do and we know we're capable of that," Molloy told the Seven Network.

"To West Coast's credit, they make games really hard and they did that.

"The adversity we faced coming over here (was tough) so a big shout-out to West Coast and Fremantle for what they did in the first-half of the season to keep it alive."

Bonnici was at her prolific best, gathering a game-high 27 possessions while also kicking a goal.

After kicking just one goal each in losses to Fremantle and the Brisbane Lions, the return of their scoring power would have pleased coach Steve Symonds.

The victory keeps Collingwood inside the top-six as they seek to atone for a heartbreaking defeat in last year's preliminary final.

West Coast, who were coming off a five-day break, fought hard but do not have the class of the Magpies.
