Mo Salah calls on world leaders to ‘prevent further slaughter of innocent souls’ in Gaza

BEIRUT: Liverpool’s Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has beseeched world leaders to “come together to prevent further slaughter of innocent souls … humanity must prevail” in a touching comment over the situation in Gaza.

Salah posted a video on the social media platform X with an impassioned plea to world leaders and the world, saying: “The people of Gaza need food water and medical supplies urgently.”

He continued: “It’s not always easy to speak in time like this… there has been too much violence and too much heartbreaking brutality.”

The escalation in recent weeks has been unbearable to witness, he added.

“All lives are sacred and must be protected. The massacres need to stop. Families are being torn apart. What’s clear now is that humanitarian aid to Gaza must be allowed immediately. The people there are in terrible conditions,” said Salah.

Describing the scenes at Al-Ahli Al-Arabi hospital, where Israeli forces have been accused of carrying out an attack thought to have killed over 500 people, the Liverpool forward said: “The scenes at the hospital last night were horrifying.”
