Minecraft fans hit out at 'monstrosity' movie trailer as they share disappointment

Minecraft fans have been left incredibly disappointed after Warner Bros released the first teaser trailer for its highly-anticipated film.

Based on the hit 2011 video game, A Minecraft Movie has major Hollywood names onboard - including Aquaman's Jason Momoa, School of Rock's Jack Black and Legally Blonde's Jennifer Coolidge. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder's Emma Myers, Orange is the New Black's Danielle Brooks and Just Mercy's Sebastian Eugene Hansen also lead the cast.

The teaser introduces us to four misfits – Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks) – who find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.

The film's synopsis explains: "To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like piglins and zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Jack Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative… the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world."

Taking to the YouTube comments, one fan slammed: "My expectations were low, but they couldn't ever be this low" as a second agreed: "My expectations
