Millman upsets Dimitrov to reach ATP semis

World No.91 John Millman has continued his giantkilling run at the ATP Tour's Delray Beach Open, eliminating No.3 seed Grigor Dimitrov to advance to the semi-finals.

The Australian, who has been winning tough at Delray, stunned Dimitrov 6-4 6-4 to set up a clash with Reilly Opelka for a place in the final.

It was a typically gritty performance from the Queenslander, who converted three out of six break points and was broken just one by Dimitrov.

Strangely enough it was the first time in the tournament where Millman, the only unseeded player in the last four, did not require a tiebreaker.

He needed four tiebreakers to advance in earlier matches, beating No.8 seed Maxime Cressy 6-7 (7-2) 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (7-3) and American Marcus Giron 6-3 7-6 (8-6).

No.2 seed Opelka beat Adrian Mannarino 7-6 (7-2) 3-6 6-1 to progress.

Earlier, top-seed Cameron Norrie reached the semis by beating No.5 seed Sebastian Korda 6-2 1-6 7-6 (7-4).

Korda won the first two points of the deciding tiebreaker, then lost six of the next seven points and couldn't recover. He was a finallist last year.

Norrie next faces No.4 seeded Tommy Paul, who has dropped only six games in his two matches at Delray so far this year and eased past Stefan Kozlov 6-3 6-1.
