Mikel Arteta makes title race admission amid Arsenal's battle with Man City and Manchester United

Mikel Arteta has claimed that there are more teams than just Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United in this season's title race.

The Gunners currently hold the advantage in the battle for the Premier League crown with Arteta's men sitting two points clear of the Blues in the table. Arsenal have a game in hand over Pep Guardiola's side after they relinquished top spot following their draw with Nottingham Forest last weekend.

United sit five points behind the North London club having also played one game more. However, the two teams will be level on matches played after this weekend's fixtures thanks to the Reds' involvement in the Carabao Cup final.

For many onlookers, the title race is a mere three-horse race at best. But, as Football.London report, Arteta appeared to suggest in his press conference ahead of the match with Leicester City that there are other clubs in the race.

When asked about the ongoing title race with City and United, Arteta said: "I think there are more teams involved."

Arteta's comments seem to suggest he believes that Tottenham Hotspur in fourth and Newcastle in fifth are still battling for the league title. The aforementioned teams are 12 and 13 points behind Arsenal respectively.
