Mike Tyson: How biting Evander Holyfield's ear made him tens of millions

Mike Tyson has described in a recent podcast appearance just how much money he made off the back of biting Evander Holyfield’s ear.

Tyson filed for bankruptcy in 2003 after a mismanagement of funds, but he has been making millions every year ever since that infamous day due to multiple ventures.

In recent times, a large part of Iron’s money has been made through his legal marijuana business, which has Evander Holyfield ear shaped THC edibles as one of its highest selling products.

Tyson bit the ear of Holyfield in their bout on June 28, 1997, which famously cost Tyson $3 milliion in fines.

The former world heavyweight champion biting off a part of Holyfield’s ear is still one of the sport’s craziest moments ever!

However, according to Tyson, that very incident alone has made him a bucket load of money – at least $30 million apparently!

The 56-year-old was a guest on the Checc-N-In Podcast, where they all spoke about Mike’s edibles and it led to the conversation about the notorious biting incident.

He first stated the THC edibles are “always selling out” and then he revealed just how much money he was making.

“I make so much off some f****** ears. Listen, I made so much money because I got fined $3 million for that… I might’ve made $30 million since that happened form that bite (alone).

“From taking pictures (pretending) biting heads and all that s-t. Do you know how important that was? White people wanting me to bite their ear.”

Basically, Tyson tripled the fine money just by acting like he was biting off the ears of fans asking for pictures. It is definitely a bizarre way of making a fortune, to say the least!

Mike Tyson is and always will be one of the biggest characters in the world of sport. Imagine being fined $3
