Miguel Britos' tackle on Anthony Knockaert is possibly the worst in Premier League history

Watford’s Miguel Britos’ tackle on Brighton’s Anthony Knockaert in 2017 is possibly the worst in Premier League history.

We don’t blame you if you don’t remember the challenge.

We too had erased it from our memory until we saw it posted on social media recently by Twitter account @epicredcards.

We’re not sure about ‘epic’ when talking about Britos’ challenge. More like horrific.

In the 24th minute of the 0-0 draw at Vicarage Road, Knockaert was running down the right wing for the visitors.

But he was brutally stopped in his tracks by a lunging ‘tackle’ by Britos that caught the Frenchman on his knee.

It was a shocking tackle and left Knockaert in agony.

Amazingly, Britos appeared shocked to be issued a red card by referee Graham Scott. It was his third red card in 11 Premier League appearances.

Fortunately – and remarkably – Knockaert was able to continue the match.
