Middlesbrough ace makes comment involving Man United and Cristiano Ronaldo

The centre back was part of the Boro side which recently knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup on penalties and he faced perhaps one of the hardest tests in the world game as he came up against arguably the best player in the world.

Ronaldo didn’t find the target against the Sky Bet Championship play-off hopefuls and as a result endured a frustrating evening at Old Trafford as he was well marshalled by Fry and his defensive colleagues.

Now the 24-year-old has opened up on how it felt to keep such a big name quiet as he stated the following recently:

“To play against one of the best that’s ever played the game, for him not to score is a great achievement. One that I will take with me.”

Fry’s reputation continues to go from strength to strength and it is therefore no surprise to see so many Premier League sides being linked with his signature at present.

He is under contract with Boro until the summer of 2023.

The Verdict 

It is testament to Fry that he managed to keep Ronaldo quiet on what was a famous night for Boro in the cup and it is an achievement that he should rightly cherish and be proud of.

He truly is one of the star players of the Championship this season and it would be a shock if he isn’t playing higher up next season.

Boro know that they will struggle to hold onto him if they don’t go up, so they will be working hard to make their Premier League dream a reality.

Fry if course will play a big part in achieving that, so it will be interesting to see where they finish.
