Micah Richards agrees with Gary Neville on Bruno Fernandes as Manchester United change identified
Micah Richards has become the latest pundit to hit out at Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes for the attitude he displayed in the 7-0 drubbing to Liverpool on Sunday.
Fernandes was labelled a 'disgrace' by former United star Gary Neville for his arm-waving antics and poor body language allied with a dismal performance as Erik ten Hag's side were thumped at Anfield. United fell apart in the second half amid a lack of leadership and Richards feels that starts with the skipper.
The Portugal international appeared to push the assistant referee while he seemed to be asking to come off when Marcus Rashford was replaced late in the contest. It was a performance that has been derided by pundits in the aftermath of the game.

Richards, speaking on Match of the Day 2, said: "This is where you see character now, the only thing I would say is that Fernandes as captain is constantly waving his arms in the air. He needs to encourage his players and get some sort of structure. It was the way they lost. I think it is a blip for United because Liverpool at Anfield is a tough fixture for everyone but it is the way it happened, almost humiliation at times."
United will seek to bounce back when Real Betis visit Old Trafford for the first leg of the Europa League last-16 tie while ten Hag's men also have an FA Cup quarter final with Fulham on the horizon in a key month. Ten Hag could elect to make changes for the game against the Spanish side this week given the Anfield drubbing and former Premier League striker Troy Deeney believes Jadon Sancho is one player who should come into the XI.
