Meta Quest VR headset gets surprise price drop at online tech giant

It was only a few years ago when VR headsets were bulky gadgets that required cameras to be set up in your room to operate. Fast forward to 2025 and those days are long behind us, with modern virtual reality tech capable of operating completely wirelessly and, thanks to a current Amazon sale, is more affordable than ever.

The Meta Quest 3S, which launched just four months ago in October 2024, has seen an 11% price cut at Amazon. This takes the entry price down from £379 to £339, making it a much more affordable way of getting into the world of VR.

What makes this deal even sweeter is that you're getting a whole game included in the price with Batman: Arkham Shadow, which retails for £38.99 by itself. This title came out late last year and continued the story of the Batman Arkham games, letting you become the caped crusader himself as you battle against the Rat King.

You'll also be given a three month free trial of Meta Quest+, a subscription service that costs £7.99 per month gives you access to a huge library of VR games. Some of the favourites on the list are Asgard's Wrath 2, Tetris Effect Connected, Fruit Ninja and Walkabout Mini Golf.

The Meta Quest 3S is a more affordable version of its big brother, the Meta Quest 3. The main difference between this one and the more expensive model is that the 3S has a lower resolution screen.

In other areas like the cameras used for augmented reality, much of the hardware is the same between the two hardware models - including the processor. In fact, some users have reported that the Meta Quest 3S battery lasts longer than the 3 as it's not having to power such a high resolution screen.
