Met Police looking for 10 football fans after 'attacks' at Millwall vs Crystal Palace FA Cup game

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Football Investigation Team are appealing for help to identify ten men following violent disorder and homophobic public order offences at Millwall’s FA Cup home match against Crystal Palace at The Den on January 8th.

The Eagles beat Millwall 2-1 in a fiercely contested south London derby that was marred by homophobic chanting and violent disorder from the fans as well as missiles being thrown at Crystal Palace players and wide-spread booing when players took the knee before kick-off. Four arrests were made on the day with police reporting that a steward had been assaulted as well as bottles and flares being thrown onto the pitch.

The Met Police are now looking to track down ten men, releasing images of nine of them who they want to identify in relation to alleged attacks on Crystal Palace fans when the match had finished at about 2.45pm. Another man is wanted in connection with a homophobic public order offence in the stands during the match.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Officers are also appealing to help identify one man in a separate image in connection with a suspected homophobic public order offence in the stands during the match. Anyone who recognises any of these people or has any information about them is urged to contact police on 101 and quote the image reference number."
