Mesut Ozil: Former Arsenal man's '100 IQ assists' shown in brilliant footage

When it comes to the king of the pass, we often think of the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Thiago or the menacing duo that was Xavi and Andres Iniesta.

However, one such star who always seems to be criminally overlooked is former Arsenal and Real Madrid maestro, Mesut Ozil.

At his height, the German midfielder possessed an other-worldly sense of vision that, on all too often an occasion, his teammates simply couldn’t keep up with.

He saw gaps that others would think simply didn’t exist and was able to masterfully concoct truly delightful ways to get the ball to his teammates via the most imaginative means.

When his colleagues did understand the assignment and were able to cotton-on to the magic in time, it made for some truly beautiful and jaw dropping football.

Who can forget the deadly duo he formed with on Cristiano Ronaldo as the pair tore Europe to shreds in the colours of Real Madrid?

Or those heady Arsenal days when he ascended the throne of the Premier League assist-king and reigned supreme over his English counterparts?
