Messi’s coldest moment? Video featuring Ronaldo goes viral

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s extraordinary rivalry in La Liga will never be forgotten.

They spurred each other on to score an absurd numbers of goals between 2009-2018.

Messi would score two or three goals for Barcelona one night while Ronaldo would respond by netting two, three or four goals for Real Madrid the following evening and vice-versa.

The Clasicos involving Messi and Ronaldo are some of the best football matches, in terms of quality and drama, in history.

One of the most dramatic Clasicos came in November 2010 when Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona famously thrashed Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid 5-0 at Camp Nou.

“(The 8-0 win) It doesn’t tell me anything,” the Portuguese forward told reporters, per FourFourTwo. “Let’s see if they score eight against us on Monday.”

A video that has gone viral on social media, however, claims Ronaldo said: “Let’s see if Barça can score half of that against us on Monday”.

Either way, Ronaldo was confident that Real Madrid would bring the Catalan club back down to earth with a bump.

However, it was Messi who had the last laugh, inspiring Barcelona to a famous 5-0 win over Los Blancos.
