Messi, Ronaldo, Ramos: The 7 players with 100 international wins

Lionel Messi recently became part of a very exclusive club as he clinched his 100th win with the Argentina national side against Jamaica.

Messi scored twice as his country cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory against the Caribbean side.

A result that provides the Argentine with a century of wins in the famous blue and white of his homeland.

It took Messi 164 games to reach the impressive tally, and in doing so, he now becomes only the seventh player in history to achieve the feat.

Across the other six members of the super exclusive club, three are still playing in the game professionally.

Andres Guardado of Mexico has played for the Mexican national team since 2005 and has so far racked up 102 wins in 179 games.

Cristiano Ronaldo debuted for Portugal in 2003 and currently boasts 113 wins in 191 appearances.

Whilst the record holder, Sergio Ramos, can lay claim to an incredible 131 international victories with Spain since he first debuted in 2005. He played 180 games for his country before retiring from the international stage in 2021.

The success of the Spanish national team between 2008-2012 saw the team dominate all that came before them, even winning back-to-back European Championships with a World Cup sandwiched in between.

So, it’s no surprise Xavi Hernandez and Iker Casillas also make the cut.

Xavi ties with Messi after being involved in 100 wins, although, significantly, in just 133 caps.

Whereas Casillas finishes second to Ramos thanks to his 121 victories.

Son Chinn Ann, who played for Malaysia between 1969-1984, takes fourth place. He won 108 games across an unbelievable 219 appearances.
