The 21/22 football season was certainly one that will live long in the memory. Week after week, fans were treated to fantastic action from around Europe.

Of the continent’s top five leagues, none could match the English Premier League for sheer drama as Manchester City and Liverpool fought all the way to the final day to decide who would be crowned champions.

While other competitions may have lacked such a rollercoaster finish, there can be no denying that La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga had some serious talent on show.

This has been proven by the folks over at WhoScored, with their stats gurus giving each of Europe’s top players a ranking out of 10, based on their cumulative performances over the course of the campaign.

Surprisingly, there’s no spot in the countdown for Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk (71st) or Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo (94th), but the list still features big names aplenty.
