Meet Elmar Asgarzade, the inventor behind a fuel-saving green invention

Elmar Asgarzade, Chief Science Officer at Extra Mile Technologies and Senior Engineer at Baku Higher Oil School, shares his journey in developing a breakthrough friction modifier that significantly reduces engine friction and fuel consumption. This breakthrough innovation, which reduces friction by 30%, resulting in a 5% reduction in fuel consumption, has been tested and validated by one of the world's leading energy companies.

At Extra Mile Technologies, Asgarzade and his team focus on developing advanced lubricants that work on the principle of ionic repulsion, similar to the repulsion forces between identical magnetic poles. This technology promises more efficient performance than traditional products.

Asgarzade's passion for tackling the climate crisis was fostered during his chemical engineering studies at the Baku Higher Oil School, where he also began his ventures into innovative projects. His efforts led him to win first place in Azerbaijan's ClimateLaunchpad, culminating in a global final in Scotland. His contributions to innovation and entrepreneurship also earned him the prestigious Presidential Youth Award in Azerbaijan.

Alongside his role at Extra Mile Technologies, Asgarzade is actively involved in nurturing the next generation of innovators at Baku Higher Oil School, emphasising the integration of science and entrepreneurship to foster solutions that benefit the community. His work with students not only advances education, but also drives meaningful environmental and societal contributions.
