Medway Area Sunday League round-up (11/02/24)

The leading sides in the Premier Division went head-to-head in the Senior League Cup Semi-Final on Sunday.

With so little to separate Quested and Chatham Town SR in the league, it was perhaps no surprise that the tie went to penalties, with Qs winning 6-5 on spot-kicks.

The teams drew 2-2 in 90 minutes after goals from Sam Stace and Fjord Rogers for Quested and a Tom Davey brace for Chatham.

Quested will face Cliffe Woods Colts in the Final after they won 3-0 against Medway Invicta thanks to Ozan Hussan (2) and Ashley Poppy.

Rainham Kenilworth 2 enjoyed a 6-1 win over Swanscombe Tigers in the Senior Charity Cup.

Yeni Yusuph led the way with a hat-trick, brother Yomi Yusuph also netted with Nathan Young and Ben Hussey completing the scoring.

In the Junior Charity Trophy, Wigmore Wanderers shaded Rochester Eagles Reserves 3-2 thanks to Jack Downey (2) and Ben Hetterley. James Whiting and Callum Kemp replied for the visitors.

The only game in Division 1 saw Kieran Wells and Robb Henderson on target for AFC Shorne in their 2-2 draw with Medway Sport XI, for whom Connor Mayfield netted twice.

In Division 2, ASK Medway won 3-1 against Omega 92 with goals from Joe Lawrence (2) and Richard Humphrey.

Jack Burnham and Conner Turner goals were not enough for Cliffe Woods Colts A as they went down 3-2 to Swallow Rise 93 Reserves, who scored through Kane Westall, Callum Leonard and Jacob Murray.

Riverside Academy and Bredhurst shared the points in a 1-1 draw, Joshua Obafemi was on target for Riverside.

Division 3 Bredhurst Juniors won 3-2 against Medway United, for whom Jordan Lorentson and Callum Ward netted.

Sam Lovey and George Baker were on target for The Walnut Tree in their 2-1 victory over Eagles Gold, Callum Marshall replied.
