Media wax lyrical over ‘talented’ Ramsey after Leeds draw
Aston Villa may have thrown away two points against Leeds United after spurning a 3-1 lead at home to draw 3-3, but they have many positives to take from the game, one of which was Jacob Ramsey’s performance.
The 20-year-old impressed over the 90 minutes and ending the game at Villa’s joint top goalscorer in the Premier League this season with a fantastic brace in front of his own supporters.
Ramsey was given a player rating of 8.5/10 by Ashley Preece of Birmingham Live and called ‘ice-cold’ for how well he took his chances on the night. Preece believes the England U21 international made a real statement of intent with his performance and has a bright future.
Aston Villa News said Ramsey makes the game look easy when he’s in form. Luis Miguel Echegaray of Que Golazo Podcast believes the 20-year-old could be Villa’s best academy product. Football writer Leanne Prescott called Ramsey ‘one hell of a player’.
Gregg Evans of The Athletic said the midfielder is turning into a brilliant player. Ty Bracey of Villa Spaces and The Villa View begged Ramsey to stay. And Melissa Reddy of the Independent said the midfielder was a ‘talent’ and a ‘treat to watch’.
