McDonald's Happy Meals are about to look completely different

McDonald's bosses have confirmed its Happy Meals are about to undergo a huge makeover. Later this month, families who dine at the place with the golden arches will notice a bold change to McDonald's' children's offering.

For many years, Happy Meals have been sold in a bright red box, with a yellow smile on the side, and matching yellow handles. But from Wednesday, October 23, that will change. McDonald's said the Happy Meal box will become "ghoulish", just in time for Halloween, with an all-over bold orange pumpkin look.

Diners can expect to find one of six exclusive plush character toys or a ‘Monster Ball’ book inside, and can also get their hands on limited edition "Ghoulish Goodies", which are a "spooky twist" on the apple and grape bags. As well as this, there'll be a QR code for "spooky savings" on local attractions and Halloween-themed activities.

There'll also be life-size Halloween Happy Meal characters at more than 140 UK McDonald's restaurants until November 3. You can find your nearest here.

A McDonald's spokesperson added: "We have also launched the first-ever ‘Scare School’ to train crew members nationwide in bringing spooky fun to their restaurants and enhancing the family experience, especially during October half term. So, look out for spooky crew in your local restaurant!"
