Max Verstappen speaks out against 'disgusting' fans burning Lewis Hamilton merchandise
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen slammed fans who burned Lewis Hamilton-branded merchandise at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday, calling their actions disgusting.
"That's, of course, not acceptable," Verstappen told reporters after winning the race on Sunday.
"These individuals, I definitely don't agree with that because that's just disgusting."
After the Hungarian GP, footage circulated on social media, showing fans burning Mercedes diver Hamilton branded merchandise.
In an interview with Hamilton on Sunday, Verstappen said that most of his fans were generally respectful, but the few spoilt it for everyone.
"Overall, I think the majority of the fans cheering a lot throughout the race and also on the podium for every driver, I think that's how it should be," Verstappen said.
"The video of burning merch, I think that's disgusting."
