Max Verstappen now has the second most podiums in the F1 hybrid era - he’s only 24

In 2014, we saw Formula One head in a new direction, entering the turbo-hybrid era, since then there has been a whole host of race winners and podium sitters, but who has the most?

Mercedes have won the Constructor’s Championship in all eight season since then, so it’s no surprise that their drivers dominate the list.

Max Verstappen moved up the list with his podium at the Austrian Grand Prix last weekend, but how does he fair with the other drivers?

9. Sergio Perez

The Mexican is on 18 podiums, with the majority coming as a Red Bull driver, with that number likely to rise throughout this season with his team leading the Constructor’s Championship at the moment.

8. Charles Leclerc

Although on 18 podiums like Perez, Leclerc edges it on the list because he has more race wins. He’s pushing for a maiden world crown this season with Ferrari, so that number is expected to go up before the season is out

7. Kimi Raikkonen

The original Flying Finn has left a huge hole in Formula One after retiring last season, but the former world champion still makes this list, having achieved 26 podiums in the turbo-hybrid era. He has a decent cushion to those below him, so Raikkonen won’t be losing his place on here in a hurry.

6. Daniel Ricciardo

The loveable Aussie has had a difficult season with McLaren so far, but with 32 podium he’s been one of the better performers in the turbo-hybrid era. After leaving Red Bull, he was back on the podium last season with his dramatic win at Monza.
