Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag favoured for Manchester United job amid Graham Potter links

There's always drama when Manchester United are involved with something and with their managerial situation currently unresolved, it looks like there's going to be more theatricals to come.

Ralf Rangnick, United's current interim manager, is taking charge of the club until the end of the season before a permanent successor is found by John Murtough and the club's hierarchy.

A lot of names have been linked with the permanent role and it remains a mystery to see who United go for, but if we are to believe some of the recent reports, another person has been thrown into the mix.

That person is Brighton manager, Graham Potter and there are some United supporters who think he'd be a great appointment.

Without a doubt, Potter has done an exceptional job on the South Coast and has rightly been getting plaudits. His side is currently ninth and 10 points off fourth in the Premier League.

It's not just the impressive position in the table that makes Potter a great manager. He's turned average individuals into great players, who've been catching the eye of many top clubs. The likes of Yves Bissouma and Tariq Lamptey have both been linked with moves to some of the best teams in England and it just emphasises how good of a job their coach has done.

It's hard to argue against Potter becoming a great manager at a top Premier League club, but currently, it feels like the United job has come at the wrong time for him.

United need someone who's more experienced than Potter - a man who's managed in the elite competitions, which leaves both names who continue to be linked with the job.
