Matt Ryan trade - Atlanta Falcons' Cordarrelle Patterson and New Orleans Saints' Cam Jordan have amazing reactions to move

The Atlanta Falcons traded longtime QB Matt Ryan to the Indianapolis Colts on Monday. After 14 years, an MVP award and a trip to the Super Bowl, Ryan's career with the Dirty Birds is over for the price of one 2022 third-round pick.

The deal is the latest in a fast-moving QB market during the NFL offseason. Russell Wilson got traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos. Aaron Rodgers re-signed with the Green Bay Packers. Carson Wentz was dealt from Indy to the Washington Commanders. The Cleveland Browns traded for Deshaun Watson and still have Baker Mayfield.

Ryan, 36, is the Falcons' franchise leader in wins, career yards, career completions, passing touchdowns and a slew of others. With his departure, the Falcons then announced the signing of Marcus Mariota to go along with second-year QB Feleipe Franks, who signed as an undrafted free agent rookie in 2021. Cordarrelle Patterson, however, had the perfect response to the trade. Though he tweeted this before the Mariota deal was announced.

In his nine seasons in the NFL with the Falcons, Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots, Patterson has been a do-it-all star. He has been a kick returner, wide receiver and running back. Last season, Patterson rushed for 618 yards and 6 touchdowns to go with 548 receiving yards and 5 TDs and 18 kickoff returns.

One of Ryan's new teammates, linebacker Darius Leonard, used the news to start recruiting free agent receiver Julio Jones. The former All-Pro receiver played with the Tennessee Titans last season, but spent his first 10 seasons with Ryan in Atlanta.
