Masters cut line 2022: Tiger Woods survives scare but Bryson DeChambeau endures nightmare

It was another action-packed day at Augusta National, as Friday's action saw the top 50 in the field book a weekend spot. One man who did make the cut was the returning Tiger Woods, who carded a two-over 74 on day two to ensure he headed into the third and fourth round with ease. On the other hand some of the sport's biggest names missed out, including Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau and Xander Schauffele.

Woods ended his opening round in the red with a round of 71 to put him inside the top 10. Danny Willett was also the highest-placed Brit, bettering his opening-round score from the 2016 Masters when he won the Green Jacket.

He then endured a difficult start on day two after bogeying four of his opening five holes, moving him towards the dreaded cut line. In typical Woods fashion though the 15-time major winner fought back impressively against the tough conditions, and once again got the Augusta crowd roaring. He carded birdies at eight, 10, 13 and then finally 14 before coming home with four solid pars to remarkably leave inside the top 20.

The cut line at this year's Masters was four-over par.

DeChambeau will miss the weekend's action after enduring a dismal two days, after carding a torrid tournament score of 12-over-par to end his week early. The American headed to Augusta against the advice of his doctor, after recently struggling with injury.

As a result, he difficult recent run continued, as he missed his second cut in as many weeks after falling short at last week's Valero Texas Open. His long-time rival Koepka also fell short, as two three-over-par 75's saw him miss out on a ticket to the weekend.
