Massive Nate Diaz bout 'verbally agreed' for UFC 279
A massive bout for UFC legend Nate Diaz has reportedly been ‘verbally agreed’ for the upcoming UFC 279 card.
There had been a number of fights proposed by both fans and fighters themselves for the MMA great, including Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler, but arguably an even bigger test for the Diaz brother awaits.
Whilst the fight has not officially been confirmed by the company themselves, it is certainly one that could be a smash hit for the UFC in box office terms.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN recently confirmed that Diaz will be entering the octagon at UFC 279 to face rising star Khamzat Chimaev:
Khamzat vs. Nate. UFC 279 on Sept. 10 at T-Mobile Arena. Main event. Five rounds. Verbally agreed, per UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell. It is the final fight on Nate Diaz’s current UFC contract. pic.twitter.com/p7lrcoroH0
MMAFighting has since added further context to the story, noting: “Diaz will meet Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279, which takes place Sept. 10 at T-Mobile Arena, ESPN.com reported and a person with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting. Chimaev told ESPN.com via rep Majdi Shammas, ‘I am going to handle Nate Diaz’s funeral.’”
This is easily the biggest fight of Khamzat’s career thus far and presents an absolutely massive challenge for Diaz.
Many professional MMA fighters have already reacted to the news, with many predicting absolute destruction from Chimaev.
