Mason Greenwood Has Been Removed From FIFA 22

EA Sports released a new squad update for PlayStation, Xbox and PC on Tuesday and Greenwood is no longer included in United's squad and has been taken out of the offline database completely.

If United's squad is loaded up in the kick-off mode, Greenwood is nowhere to be seen in the starting XI or reserves.

United said they 'do not condone violence of any kind' in a statement and stated the 20-year-old would not be training or playing for the club until further notice.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a video, audio recording and photos were posted to the woman's Instagram before her account was deleted later in the day.

Greenwood has not responded to any allegations at the time of writing.

Greenwood been at United since the age of six and rose through the academy before making his first-team debut in 2019.

This season, Greenwood has scored six goals in all competitions and started United's last game, a 1-0 victory over West Ham United on January 22.

Greenwood remains in police custody for questioning and an official statement from Greater Manchester Police reads: "Detectives have been granted additional time to speak to a man in his 20s who is being held on suspicion of rape and assault of a woman.

"Inquiries are ongoing and the victim is being offered specialist support."

The force have also reminded the public that the victim has rights to lifelong anonymity.

A further statement added: "We remind people to avoid any commentary or sharing of images that could compromise the victim's right to lifelong anonymity, or risk prejudicing a live investigation with active proceedings."
