Mason Greenwood Has Been Released On Bail After Arrest On Suspicion Of Rape And Assault Of A Woman
Mason Greenwood has been released on bail after being arrested on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman.
On Tuesday, it was confirmed that Greenwood had been further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.
As per Mike Keegan from the Daily Mail, Greater Manchester Police have now confirmed the 20-year-old has now been released on bail pending further investigation.
In a statement released on Tuesday, United have already confirmed Greenwood will not play or train for the club, saying: "Manchester United reiterates its strong condemnation of violence of any kind. As previously communicated, Mason Greenwood will not train with, or play for, the club until further notice."
The player's merchandise has been removed from the official Manchester United website, while the sportswear giant and Greenwood's sponsor, Nike, have suspended their relationship with him in response.
