Masked robbers who stole a valuable electric bike at knifepoint from a victim in the street are being hunted by police.

Police in Bury have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Greater Manchester Police said the victim was approached by two males both wearing balaclavas in the Conway Avenue area of Whitefield, Bury, between 7pm and 7.30pm on Sunday.

The e-bike - a Sur-Ron electric bike - was then stolen at knifepoint. It's not known whether the victim suffered any injuries in the robbery or how old they are.

In a statement, police in Bury said: "Officers from Bury's Neighbourhood Crime Team are appealing for anybody in the Conway Avenue area of Whitefield to check their CCTV and Ring doorbell footage in relation to an incident that occurred on Sunday.

"Between 19:00 and 19:30 a Sur-Ron Electric bike was stolen at knife point on Conway Avenue in Whitefield.

"The victim is approached by two males in balaclavas from the direction of Clyde Avenue before stealing the bike and driving off towards Bury Old Road. If you have any CCTV, Ring doorbell or dash cam footage that captures anything suspicious in the area at that time then we would like to see this footage.

"The stolen bike is quite distinctive and a picture has been provided. We believe this to be a targeted incident with no wider threat to the local community." The image of the bike is being shared by police on social media.
