Martin Lewis praises north west seaside resort - but misses out on a money saving tip

Stepping away from his usual financial advice, Martin Lewis has recommended a holiday destination to his fans - and it might surprise you. The Money Saving Expert founder said his family “love” Blackpool and praised its “wide sandy beach, rides…water parks and more.”

Martin posted about the seaside resort on his Facebook page following a recent family holiday there. He recalled visiting it as a child and wanting to share “that joy” with his daughter Sapphire, who he calls his “Mini Money Saving Expert”.

Although Blackpool is a firm favourite of us up north, Martin pointed out that his friends who live down South aren’t too keen on the idea of visiting the famous seaside town, so he wanted to highlight the town to his followers. He wrote: “We were in Blackpool a couple of weeks ago. I loved it as a kid and wanted to share that joy with mini MSE, so this was actually her third time there and she loves it, as do we.

“Huge great, long, wide sandy beach; rides at the pleasure beach, tuppenny machines, water parks and more. When I mention it to other friends who live in the SE, most look askance at the idea of a couple of days in Blackpool. Yet they've never been. So I wanted to pop up and say a good word. Do it right and it's a joy.”

We couldn’t agree more with Martin that it’s a great place to visit. However, the financial guru did miss out mentioning a money-saving tip for visitors.
